The stake presidency is the top governing body of a stake, consisting of a president and two counselors. The stake president holds the priesthood keys to lead the work of the Church in the stake. The stake presidency is responsible for the progress of the Church in their stake, including all Church activities, callings, ordinances performed, and programs. They care for stake members with love, helping them become true followers of Jesus Christ.
Stake presidencies are lay leaders who serve voluntarily without pay from the Church. They are asked to serve as volunteers in this position and oversee Church operations in a defined geographic area composed of individual congregations called wards. They are responsible for helping the members of their stake in their efforts to follow Jesus Christ.
