Stake Presidency Message
Dear friends,
May is a wonderful month! Children (and teachers) are wrapping up school and ready for summer break. High school and college graduates are preparing to move on to new adventures. Folks are out and about enjoying the beautiful weather. Flowers are in bloom, adding beautiful splashes of color to the landscape. May is a fun month.
In the month of May, we also celebrate Mother’s Day. When I think of my mom, I think of unconditional love. I think of her always being there when I need her, regardless of what is going on in her life. I think of selfless service.
And I believe mothers are able to see past our silly mistakes and recognize our unlimited potential. What an amazing gift a good mother is to her children and her family! How thankful I am for my amazing mother!
I am reminded of the great verses found in Alma 56:47-48 that highlight the impact of a faithful and loving mother. The stripling warriors learned early on not to doubt, and the Lord would deliver them. Their mothers set the example and taught the truth.
Heavenly Father also loves us perfectly and has high expectations of each of us as we are created in His own image. Because He loves us so much, He sent His son to redeem us so we can return to our Heavenly Home.
I invite you to consider your eternal destiny and potential just as your mother sees you. Don’t settle for the opinions of others. You truly are amazing!
I love my mother. She is a gift from Heaven. I love my Heavenly Father and am so thankful for the amazing Plan of Happiness. And I love my Savior. I know He lives.
To all the wonderful mothers around the world, Happy Mothers Day! We love you!
May we always let God prevail in our lives.
With love and gratitude,
President Quick

This is our garden that I did from seeds because that was cheaper than plants. Our soil is sandy, so we added chicken fertilizer from our chickens and organic matter from leaves. The herbs I have going is what has survived in my herb garden. When I took my routine walk around our property, I found a small branch from an Apple tree that had died drooping across the ground. It had rooted itself. I cut it and made 16 pots of little apple starts. I had told Bruce that we needed to replace two of our apple trees that had died. I knew we couldn’t afford it. I prayed, and God answered my prayers. I just had to find it.
Blessings come in many ways. The first picture is of a peach tree that grew from a pit. The second picture is of our berry orchard. We bought some plants, and when Bruce prunes them, he makes cuttings and sticks them in pots to create new plants. We now have 25 blueberries and 8 blackberries. The third picture is a plum tree that was given to me and has died twice, but I found it alive with new shoots, dug it up, and moved it to a more sunny location where I could easily nurture it and care for it. God continues to show me things on our property when I take my walks. This land has been a blessing to us.
