Dancers perform in "Luz del las Naciones" event at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City on November 2, 2019
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will not be a live “Luz de Las Naciones” event in 2020. Instead, two virtual “Luz de Las Naciones” events held entirely online in November and December will showcase Latino cultures from across the world and highlight a shared heritage and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Light of the World.
“This year’s theme is ‘Unidos en Esperanza,’ or, in English, ‘United in Hope,’” said Elder Jorge T. Becerra of the Seventy. “The program expresses our unwavering belief in the divinity of Jesus Christ. Many Latter-day Saints look forward to this annual celebration. We hope many will join us on these memorable evenings to once again enjoy Luz de Las Naciones.”
The November “Luz de Las Naciones” program on November 7 at 7:00 p.m. will include video highlights from past events and will feature an all-new Hispanic virtual choir prepared specifically for this year.
The December event on December 19 at 7:00 p.m. will be a “Luz de Las Naciones” celebration of the birth of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
Both events will include a never-before-seen “Luz de Las Naciones” video of performances from the Conference Center on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The “Luz de Las Naciones” events feature a cast of more than 1,000 Latino dancers, singers and other performers who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and friends of the Church.
All individuals and families are invited to join virtually in these events that express gratitude for a heritage of faith and celebrate the things that unify and strengthen us.
