Stake Presidency Message

Dear Sisters & Brothers of the Fayetteville NC Stake,

I hope this note finds each of you well.

General Conference is fast approaching! Just a few more days to go.

Over the years I have gained a better understanding of the importance of this sacred weekend in my life. How thankful I am for modern technology that allows me to hear the words of living prophets and apostles as well as other church leaders.

On page #21 of our hymn book we find a song entitled “Come, Listen to a Prophet’s Voice.” The very first line reads as follows, “Come, listen to a prophet’s voice and hear the word of God.” At the bottom of page #21 you will find a reference to some verses of scripture. In D&C 21:5 we find the following, “For his word (the prophet’s) ye shall receive, as if from mine mouth, in all patience and faith.” A direct link to Heaven.

General Conference weekend is an amazing blessing! We have an opportunity to listen to President Nelson and hear the word of God. With all that is going on around us, we need guidance and direction. Heavenly Father has promised that His ordained prophet will never lead us astray. I will follow our prophet.

I invite you to fully participate in General Conference this upcoming weekend. Put yourself in position to be spiritually fed. Try to focus during the sessions. Listen with your heart and feel for the impressions of the Spirit. Promised answers will come.

Let God Prevail!

With love and gratitude,

President Quick
