The Fayetteville North Carolina Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helped to fill the needs of those in the Fayetteville community by supplying over two tons of non-perishable foods to distribute during this holiday season.

Fayetteville Urban Ministry fayurbmin.org is a 501c3 charity that works with residents in the Fayetteville/Cumberland County area. They have a four-tiered mission that serves the temporal and emotional needs of those seeking assistance.

The Find a Friend Program works with youth around the area. The program is bold and exciting and has enjoyed tremendous success. The Nehemiah Project assists homeowners in helping to make their homes habitable. The Adult Literacy and Education center assists residents with achieving their GED and newer residents with speaking English. Finally, the Emergency Assistance center offers clothing and food to residents to uplift and strengthen their efforts to become fully self-reliant. The programs are hugely successful, and those that work at FUM are passionate about their service to their fellow human beings.

The Emergency Assistance Program receives over 10,000 visits yearly, and FUM does its best to ensure that people leave fulfilled and strengthened. Because of the current state of the economy, the EA center's shelves constantly need more and more replenishment. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provided two full pallets of heavy non-perishable canned meats, peanut butter, vegetables, and baby formula. This donation will help the needs of the residents greatly.
