Dear Members of the Fayetteville NC Stake,
During this holiday season of Thanksgiving, I would like to express my gratitude for each of you, the wonderful members of our stake.
Thank you for inspiring me to be better. I am constantly amazed with the talents and abilities of our good members. It certainly is a privilege to serve with the incredible members of this stake.
I am so thankful for your sustaining prayers in my behalf and for my family. We are humbled by your sincere petitions and feel of your concern for us.
I am thankful for your testimonies and desires to do what is right and good. And most importantly, your efforts to follow Christ and His example.
I am thankful for the gospel light that shines in each of you because you keep sacred covenants and live righteously.
This past General Conference was very inspiring to me. Two talks in particular really hit home. The first was Let God Prevail by President Nelson and the second was the talk by Sister Eubank entitled By Union of Feeling We Obtain Power with God.
So, in the spirit of gratitude and thanksgiving, I would like to extend an invitation to all the members of our wonderful stake.
Starting on Thanksgiving Day, I would like to invite each of you to follow the attached reading schedule and read 34 talks in 34 days. By doing this, we will increase the “spiritual swing” in our stake and will fill our hearts and minds with important gospel truths that will sustain us during these challenging times.
And perhaps more importantly, we will learn how to allow God to prevail more fully in our lives.
Please know of my love and concern for you. May the Lord bless you and protect you.
